Media research. (bullying poster)

This poster is aimed at people who have been verbally bullied. The main message of this poster is that there are ways to get help and you shouldn't do it on your own. In the poster you can see the person using a gun to kill themselves to get away from the bullying. We know he has been verbally bullied because of all the words coming out of his head. The poster has given the words a double meaning. They are all the words he had been called escaping his head and it's also the blood from the gun being fired. The message of the poster is to talk to people. Don't keep it to yourself.

The codes and conventions of the poster are that the person being bullied keeps it to themselves and not seek help. Another convention is that people usually self harm or try to take their lives as a result of bullying.

The poster communicates through the words coming out of his head. we see all the names he's been called. The poster also uses colour to communicate. The person who is being bullied is blacked out and we can't see their face or and features. This could mean that it doesn't matter who you are, what you look like, your ethnicity or your gender anyone can be bullied. The colour red is used to make the words look like blood coming out of his head. The words coming out of his head show that he is being freed from bullying and that this was the only way he thought he could stop the bullying.

The key messages of this poster are that no matter how hard it is, talk to someone don't face it alone and don't resort to self harm or suicide.

The proster is good because it shows people who are being bullied to talk to someone and that they aren't alone. The poster might also connect with them as you can't see the person in the picture so it could be anyone.
